Lindsay Wagner (Bionic Woman) Supporting UK Carers

Emmy award winning Hollywood actress Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman) is coming to England in November to do some workshops for carers and one for siblings of children with special needs.

Lindsay holds workshops in the United States which teach methods of relaxation, relieving negative thoughts and coping with stress, things that all carers constantly struggle with.

Karen from Special Needs Kids, who has 3 children, one with special needs, has met Lindsay and experienced the help she gives and can attest to the fact that it really does work.

Special Needs Kids is organising these events and are looking for sponsors or donations to help with the costs.

This is an exciting and wonderful opportunity that will be of great benefit to UK carers and siblings and also highlight the issues facing carers.

FOOD ADDITIVES & CHILDREN

What many parents have known for years has finally been endorsed by the University of Southampton

FOOD ADDITIVES CAN HAVE A NEGATIVE EFFECT ON SOME CHILDREN'S BEHAVIOUR & HEALTH

The study involved monitoring two sets of children who were chosen from the general population.  One group had an additive free diet, whilst the second set were giving a daily drink containing a mixture of food colours and preservatives.

Those children who were given the food colouring and preservatives showed a marked deterioration in behaviour and attention span.

The research was funded by The Food Standards Agency - let's all hope that finally we may see an end to food manufacturers using the suspect colourings and additives.

Accident prevention is often seen as common sense. Yet few parents know that a sparkler burns 10 times hotter than a kettle of boiling water or that a mug of tea will scald a baby 15 minutes after it has been made.

Child Accident Prevention Trust aims to reduce serious accidental injuries by safety campaigns aimed at health practitionsers, parents and children.
