Updates 14th September Print E-mail
Thursday, 14 September 2006

We've been doing a lot of art-work this week and have switched the game menus from a boring list to a new graphical format.

While we were doing this, we took the opportunity to rename the game categories as well:

  • Easy is now Pre-school Kids
  • Medium is now 5 to 7 years
  • Difficult is now 8 to 10 years
  • Impossible is now 10+ years

New games:

  • added animal wordsearch to 8 to 10 years
  • added cowboy wordsearch to 5 to 7 years

Finally, Pixie Paint! has now got a menu item all to itself.

Added Checkshadow Illusion to Impossible.

This is the first time we have added any content that we haven't made ourselves to the website. In this case it was just too good not to.

Work is also progressing on the painting program and I'll release another preview version at the weekend.

Things are going well! Progress on the painting program has been quicker than expected and I've even put up a preview of it.

If you want to have a play, then use the new Pixie Paint main menu item at the left of the screen and then click on the Pixie Paint! link.

Warning: this is NOT finished yet. You cannot save your drawing and not all features have been added yet.

Saying that, it is quite usable and my kids have been testing it out...

We've been on holidays!

puzzle pixies in Paris

Things have been quiet for the last few weeks as we had a quick tour about France. It was a great holiday.

After a rest, we now have even more great ideas for this website so expect some great new games in the next months

This week, we've changed the tic-tac-toe/noughts-and-crosses games over to Flash based games (like all our recent games) and added sound. We did this because of complaints that the old DHTML version didn't work with Internet Explorer 7.

A problem with the website page page has now been fixed. This resulted in all the page content being displayed of the bottom of the screen in Internet Explorer and Opera. It was OK in Firefox, which is why we didn't notice it for so long.

We've also been busy this week in making a new painting program for the site. This is a major piece of work, though. Expect to see some previews in about 4 weeks time...

Updates 24th July Print E-mail
Monday, 24 July 2006

A complete face change for the site this week! The old site looked a bit dark and dull, so I brightened it up a bit. Please let me know if there are problems with browsers not being able to display it well.

Added:

  • Jungle Spot the Difference to Activities. This is a spot the difference puzzle, but different in the fact that it was designed to be printed out and not played on-line. IE6 users will need a plugin to display it. More modern browsers that support the SVG file format, such as Firefox 1.5 and Opera 9 should display it with no problems (or plugins required!). I'll probably produce an online version in the future.
  • Added a review of TuxPaint software to the Reviews section. This is a free paint program and well worth a look.
  • Kids Sudoku (2 games) added to Medium.
  • Colours colour recognition game added to Easy
