Sudoku4 Puzzle Instructions

This is a kids version of the popular Sudoku puzzle (also called Su Doku or Number Place Logic Puzzle) based on a 2x2 grid and the numbers 1 to 4.

Click the green GO! button to start. The object of the game is to get the numbers 1 to 4 in each row and each column such that the same number is not repeated in each row or column. Each of the 2x2 squares separated by thicker grid lines should also contain each of the numbers from 1 to 4.

The main game screen has the number grid containing the starting numbers in black. There are also three buttons : a "clear" button which starts the game all over again, a "check" button that you can click to see if you have got all the numbers right, and a "Notes on/off" button. The "Notes" button allows you to add up to four numbers in the corners of each of the squares as a note to which numbers may be the correct one.

To add a number to any of the squares, drag one of the coloured numbers below the number grid into one of the squares. Make sure the "Notes" button is set to "off".

To add a note, click on the "Notes" button, then drag one of the coloured numbers below the number grid into one of the squares. If the number is already there as a note, it will be removed. You can have up to 4 notes per square in case all of the numbers are possible!. When you set the number of the square (when the "Notes" button is off), all the notes in the corners will disappear.

When you have filled all the squares with numbers and think you have done it, then press the "check" button. If you've got it right then Dixie should appear, otherwise you will hear a message telling you to try again.

This game requires the Adobe Flash plug-in. See the Getting Started Help pages, in the section "What do I need to view this site?" for more details.
