Kidoku4 Puzzle Instructions

This is an older pre-school kids version of the popular Sudoku puzzle. We keep the puzzle size small and instead of using numbers, we use the simple pictures:

Click the green GO! button to start. The object of the game is to get one of each of the pictures in each row and each column such that the same picture is not repeated in each row or column. There should also only be one of each picture in a 2 by 2 region surrounded by a heavy line.

The main game screen has the number grid containing the starting pictures in black. There are also two buttons : a "clear" button which starts the game all over again, and a "check" button that you can click to see if you have got all the numbers right.

To add a picture to any of the squares, drag one of the coloured pictures below the number grid into one of the squares. You will hear a "ping" sound if you have done it right.

Fill in all the blank squares until you think you have got it right and then press the "check" button. If you've got it right then Dixie should appear, otherwise you will hear a message telling you to try again.

Sudoku is an excellent logic puzzle, even for small children. This game encourages logical thinking, visual recognition and mouse control skills.
